November 25 – Reuters, on the 24th, an attack occurred in a department store in the southern Swiss city of Lugano. One woman stuck one person’s neck and stabbed another with a knife. Federal prosecutors said that this was suspected of a terrorist attack.
Police in the Swiss canton of Ticino said that the attack had ended and the 28-year-old suspect living in the area had been arrested.
One victim was reportedly seriously injured, but his life was not in danger, and the other was slightly injured.
“There was an attack on several people at a department store in Lugano, [we] suspect it was the terrorists,” the Swiss Attorney General’s Office said in a statement. In this case, a person with Swiss nationality was arrested … The Swiss Attorney General’s Office has initiated criminal proceedings against the person.”
Austrian Chancellor Kurz condemned the attack on social media: “… I am with the victims and wish them a speedy recovery. In these difficult times, we are with Switzerland. Together, we will respond to terrorism in Europe and defend our values.
Early in November, a terrorist shot and killed four people in Vienna. Later, in the town of Winterthur near Zurich, two men were arrested, who may be related to the shooting in Vienna and met with the attackers in July.
