The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that seven people had been killed in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including a 5-year-old child

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed late on 12 May local time that nearly 1,300 Israeli rockets and mortar shells had been fired at the Palestinian Gaza Strip since the start of the Israeli-Palestinian fighting.

Ido Avigal, a 5-year-old Israeli boy, was killed and his mother injured when his home in Sderot was blown up on December 12, local time.

To date, seven Israelis have died in the fighting, including an Indian woman working in Israel, five Israeli civilians and one IDF soldier.
