U.S. Defense Department officials: Tens of thousands of National Guard soldiers will be deployed in the capital

A senior U.S. Department of Defense official confirmed on January 11 that the Department of Defense will send 10,000 National Guard soldiers to the capital Washington, D.C., by Saturday (16th).

The demand for the District Government and the District Police Department continues to increase, and the final deployment of DoD soldiers is expected to increase.

CNN reported on Sunday that the number of National Guard soldiers deployed in Washington, D.C., is expected to reach 13,000 by January 20.

This week, under the command of the Department of Justice, there will be an overall security exercise in Washington, D.C., in response to the new government’s incoming power, involving almost all cabinet departments and law enforcement agencies.
