WHO: Japan discovers a new variant of COVID-19

January 11th local time, WHO held a regular press conference on COVID-19.

WHO Director-General Tedros Tedros said that Japan had informed WHO of the discovery of a new  variant  novel coronavirus at the weekend.

The more COVID-19 spreads, the more likely it is to  variant , Tedros noted.

Some  variant  COVID-19 seems to have increased transmission, which may lead to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and the number of cases requiring hospitalization, and hospitals are already on the verge of limits.

At present,  variant  COVID-19 has not shown that it can cause more serious diseases.
