U.S. Department of Defense says it will conduct sea-based interception intercontinental missile

The US Department of Defense said on the 17th that the US military conducted a sea-based interception intercontinental missile test earlier in the day.

The US Department of Defense issued a statement on the 17th that the US military launched an intercontinental missile target from a test site in the Pacific Marshall Islands’ Kwajalein Atoll to the northeastern waters of Hawaii.

An “Aegis” destroyer with anti-missile capabilities in the US Navy launched a “standard” anti-missile missile after receiving the target’s flight trajectory data to destroy the target.

The statement said that the “standard” missile was developed against the threat of medium-range ballistic missiles. This test proved that the missile has the ability to intercept intercontinental missiles.

The statement also stated that the US Department of Defense is studying the deployment of additional detection and weapon systems to complement the land-based mid-range defense system, so this test is very important.
