Jan. 24 – According to the Turkish newspaper “Liberty” reported on January 24, the Turkish Foreign Ministry official statement, a Turkish cargo ship in the Gulf of Guinea in the waters off Nigeria was attacked by pirates, 15 Turkish crew members were kidnapped and an Azerbaijani engineer was killed.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said it is in contact with the company to which the ship belongs and will take the necessary action to rescue the crew and arrange repatriation as soon as possible.
