December 9th – Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani has entered the Georgetown University Medical Center for treatment after confirming that he was infected with the novel coronavirus on the 6th.
According to Business Insider on the 8th, Giuliani continued to despise masking and social distancing rules during his hospitalization, complaining about wearing masks for too long.
It is reported that Giuliani continued to downplay the severity of COVID-19 during treatment. On the 8th, he lied on his radio program that “overdo the mask” and that the disease is “curable”.
He also posted “Poisonous Chicken Soup”: “Somethings always happen in life, and you must be at ease. You can’t overreact to them, or let the fear of disease dominate your whole life.”
According to US media, Giuliani’s words violate the guidance of public health experts, who believe that wearing masks can help prevent the spread of the virus.
In addition, there is no known cure for COVID-19, and potential treatments and vaccines are being developed and implemented.
Giuliani, 76, is Trump’s personal lawyer. A week before the infection, he traveled to Arizona, Michigan and Georgia to attend events. During this period, Giuliani often did not wear a mask and did not observe social distancing.
According to the New York Times on the 8th, Jenna Ellis, another lawyer who participated in the event with Giuliani, also tested positive.
Giuliani also revealed recently that he had mild symptoms, no fever, and little cough.
He is expected to be discharged from the hospital on the morning of the 9th local time.
