Minister of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth of Singapore, said in his speech to the National Assembly on the 5th that the special annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (also known as the Davos Forum) was held in Singapore in May this year.
Participants were required to undergo nucleic acid testing before and after departure, and the authorities would also restrict them from contacting Local community contact to reduce the risk of virus transmission.
Chen Shenghui said: “We are still formulating specific public health regulations and emergency plans, and we will take the local and international epidemic into account in the formulation process.
For future events in Singapore, you can also refer to the public health specifications of this meeting.”
Chen Shenghui pointed out that given Asia’s growing economic weight and strategic importance in the global economy, the intention of the World Economic Forum to hold its annual meeting in Singapore is to make it pay more attention to Asia.” We look forward to Singapore’s opportunity to contribute to the agenda and discussions of the meeting.”
Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, which brings together global dignitaries, business leaders and scholars, has been postponed earlier, from January to May this year, and plans to move from the Swiss ski resort Davos to the outski outskies of Lucerne.
However, since the epidemic has not slowed down across Europe, the World Economic Forum began to identify a location at the end of last year, and finally decided to move to Singapore.
