The statement said that an analysis of phase III clinical trials showed that the inactivated vaccine was 86% effective against COVID-19 infection. The vaccine has a 99% neutralizing antibody seroconversion rate and 100% effectiveness in preventing the transition of mild COVID-19 to moderate and severe. In addition, the analysis shows that the vaccine has no serious safety hazards.
The launching ceremony of the International Clinical Trial (Phase III) of China Bio-CoV Inactivated Vaccine of China was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on June 23. On July 16, Alfon began the phase III clinical trial of the novel coronavirus vaccine in cooperation with China National Pharmaceutical Group. More than 31,000 volunteers from 125 countries and regions living in the United Arab Emirates participated in the trial.
