December 14th, local time, a total of 538 voters in the U.S. Electoral College voted for election according to the results of each state election, confirming that Democrat Biden won the U.S. election and become the next President of the United States. Later that day, Biden thanked Americans in a social media message.
“5.7 million people have helped us win our campaign and it has made me humb forever.” Biden also announced on Twitter that he would hold a telephone thank-you event at 8:45 p.m. that day (14th) to thank all his supporters.
According to U.S. media reports, so far, Biden has obtained 302 electoral votes, 70 votes ahead of Trump’s 232 votes. According to the United States Constitution and constitutional amendments, presidential candidates can be elected with more than half of the electoral votes, or 270 votes.
