Seoul, December 6 The COVID-19 epidemic has recently rebounded again and continues to spread in South Korea. The government announced on the 6th that it will raise the level of social distancing and epidemic prevention across the country again from 00:00 on the 8th to further tighten epidemic prevention measures.

According to the results of the meeting of the Central Disaster Security Response Headquarters of South Korea on the same day, the South Korean government will raise the epidemic prevention level in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province and other capital circles from level 2 to 2.5, and other non-capital areas from level 1.5 to level 2 from the 8th, tentatively for three weeks.

After the increase of epidemic prevention level, all KTV and indoor sports facilities in the capital circle area will be suspended. Large supermarkets, shopping malls, cinemas, Internet cafes, barbershops and other large supermarkets covering an area of more than 300 square meters are closed after 21:00, and parties and activities with more than 50 people are prohibited. High-risk places such as bars in non-capital circle areas are prohibited. Suspension of operation, coffee shops are banned from eating all day, parties and activities for more than 100 people are prohibited.

South Korean Prime Minister Ding Se-kyun said on the same day that although the government has taken a series of measures to strengthen epidemic prevention, the epidemic situation is still very serious.

According to the latest statistics of the South Korean Disease Control Agency, as of 00:00 on the 6th, there were 631 new confirmed cases in South Korea in the past 24 hours, with a total of 37,546 confirmed cases; 5 new deaths, with a total of 545 deaths.
