The NEW South Korean submarine Anwu can sail underwater for 20 days
On the 10th November South Korea launched a new 3000-ton diesel-electric submarine “Anwu”.
“Anwu” is the second 3,000-ton submarine of the Korean army, equipped with 6 vertical launch tubes that can launch submarine-launched ballistic missiles. According to reports, this type of submarine is equipped with a power unit that does not rely on air and can sail underwater for 20 days without surfacing.
The “Anwu” is expected to be delivered to the South Korean Navy next year. After actual combat exercises, it is planned to officially enter service from 2023.
