British Foreign Secretary Dominique Raab told reporters that the G7 will study proposals for a rapid response mechanism to counter Russian “propaganda” and misinformation, Reuters reported.
Speaking on the eve of the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in London, Mr Raab said the UK was “putting together a fast-track counter-argument mechanism” to deal with Russian misinformation. “So when we see these lies, propaganda or fake news being made, we can come together and fight back,” he says. ”
After Raab’s speech, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on social media: “It’s time to reflect on why countries that are downright propaganda, those that use propaganda more than once to justify armed intervention and overthrow of foreign governments … Accuse our country of their own evils.
