February 5th, local time, the public health department of Madrid, the capital of Spain, confirmed in a latest report that Madrid has confirmed the first Variant COVID-19 case found in Brazil.
The case is a 44-year-old man who entered Spain via Madrid Barajas International Airport on January 29 local time.
The man initially tested negative for nucleic acid for COVID-19, but after entering Spain, he tested positive for an antigen.
He was then transferred to one of Madrid’s largest hospitals for re-quarantine and was diagnosed on February 5 as a Variant COVID-19 case found in Brazil.
