The European Union proposes to sanction former Russian gymnastics champion Kabayeva

According to AFP on the 5th, the European Union plans to impose sanctions on Alena Kabayeva, the “Queen of Rhythmic Gymnastics” of Russia and former member of the Duma Parliament.

This is allegedly due to the participation of the Russian “National Media Group” as the chairman of the board of directors in the Kremlin’s propaganda activities.

This plan was included in the sixth round of sanctions against Russia submitted by the European Commission on the 4th.

If adopted, the EU will ban Kabayeva from entering the country and freeze its assets.
