Beijing, December 16 Recently, the director of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission signed the Cooperation Plan between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the African Union on Jointly Promoting the Construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Up to now, China has signed 202 cooperation documents with 138 countries and 31 international organizations to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative.
The “Cooperation Plan” is the first cooperation document signed by China and regional international organizations to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative. Focusing on policy communication, facility connectivity, smooth trade, capital and finance communication, people-to-people-heart communication and other fields, it defines the content of cooperation and key cooperation projects, and puts forward a timetable and road map.
The signing of the Cooperation Plan will effectively promote the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative with the African Union Agenda 2063, promote the complementary advantages of the two sides, jointly meet global challenges, promote the high-quality development of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, create new opportunities for global cooperation and add new impetus to common development.
China will establish a coordination mechanism with the African Union Commission for the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative to promote the implementation of the Cooperation Plan.
