Recently, Japanese media reported that 59-year-old Takeshi Yoshida, the chairman of the city council of Saitama Prefecture and Hikari City, was infected with both coronavirus and influenza virus.

Speaker Yoshida said: “I was shocked myself, incredible.” Speaker Yoshida said that he had attended the assembly until December 15.

He had a fever of 38.1 degrees on the 17th and was diagnosed with the flu after a hospital examination.

At the same time, he also received a nucleic acid test and confirmed that he was infected with the new coronavirus on the 18th. Speaker Yoshida said that he did not notice any symptoms of coronavirus, but felt a slight fever due to the flu, and occasionally joint pain.

Currently, Yoshida’s fever has gone down and she is resting at home. Infectious disease physician Tetsuro Kato said, “It is rare to be infected with two viruses at the same time. It is not clear whether simultaneous infection will aggravate or reduce the condition”!
