New Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal announced in a tweet posted on social media on the afternoon of May 1 that the government had decided to extend the current blockade in the New Delhi area of the capital, which is due to end on May 3, by a week.
New Delhi’s municipal government imposed a comprehensive blockade from April 19 to April 26, followed by an extension of the blockade until May 3, as the recent outbreak in India intensified and the number of confirmed cases surged in the capital, New Delhi.
During the blockade, members of the public are not allowed to go out except for essential activities such as the purchase of necessities and medical treatment, restaurants are only available for takeaways, and shopping centres, spas, gyms, amusement parks and other places remain closed.
