U.S. media recently reported that a new hate crime data study shows that the United States targeted Asian-American attacks and other hate crimes continue to increase.

In the first quarter of 2020, police investigated 36 attacks against Asians in more than 10 major cities across the United States, up from 95 in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of more than 160 percent over the same period in 2020.

New York, with its large Asian population, saw the largest increase, with 13 related hate crimes in New York in the first quarter of 2020 and 42 in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 223 percent.
