The American Democrats get the majority in the House of Representatives
On November 10, local time, the dust settled in the U.S. House of Representatives vote. The Democrats were ensured that they maintained control of the 218 seats in the House of Representatives and once again won the House of Representatives majority seats.
Democrats had expected that after this election, the advantage of the Democratic majority party would be further expanded. They bet that suburban voters’ dissatisfaction with President Trump will drain Republican votes and allow Democrats to move into conservative areas.
However, the results showed that Democrats only won one Republican seat and lost as many as seven seats in Trump’s popular rural and working-class areas, including New Mexico and Oklahoma. So far, the Democratic Party has lost at least six seats in this election, gradually reducing its power.
