February 12th local time, WHO held a regular press conference on COVID-19.
WHO Director-General Tedros said that the International Expert Group on Virus Tracing has completed its trip to China and thanked all the members of the Group of Experts.
The expert group is currently preparing an overview of the report, which is expected to be released next week, and the final report will be released in the next few weeks.
Tedros pointed out that after discussion with some members, it is expected to be open to all assumptions about the traceability of the virus, and that further analysis and research on related issues are needed, and some of the work may not be within the scope of the discussion of this expert group.
Tedros stressed that the expert group will not find answers to all questions this time, but will provide important information to better understand the origin of the virus.
The Panel has a better understanding of the early stages of the outbreak and identified areas that need further analysis and research.
