A fireworks factory in southern India caught fire, killing 16 people.

On the afternoon of February 12, local time, a fire broke out in a fireworks factory in the town of Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, southern India. The accident has killed 16 people and injured more than 36.

As some hospital deliverees are seriously injured, the death toll is expected to increase.

Police said that at the time of the incident, the factory was mixing some chemicals to produce fireworks, and four fireworks workshops were destroyed.
