Teachers who fail to return to school in the third grade in the state of Pernambuco in northeastern Brazil will be fined
According to local media reports on the 21st, the state government of
Pernambuco in northeastern Brazil announced that the third grade students of public schools in the state will resume classes on the same day.
Starting next week, the second grade will return to school one after another. On November 3, the state will officially start the return to school for the new school year.
The state court stipulated that teachers who did not return to school
on time would be fined 100,000 reais (about 20.000 USD).
The local trade union organization stated that professionals do not recommend reopening classes.
The state government of Pernambuco in Brazil and the labor union have been disagreeing on the time to resume classes. The resumption plan for the senior third grade, originally scheduled to start in early October, was postponed.
Since March this year, all public schools in Pernambuco have
been closed due to the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
