Overseas Network, November 3- Taiwan’s flu vaccine incident has continued to ferment recently. Recently, another new case died 6 days after vaccination, a woman in her 70s who died in her sleep a few days after the injection.
Based on reports from Taiwan’s “Central News Agency” and other media on the 3rd, the spokesperson of the Taiwan Epidemic Command Center Zhuang Renxiang announced at a press conference on the 3rd that as of November 2nd, there were 238 reports of Taiwanese influenza vaccine adverse events, of which 67 were serious adverse events. There were 171 non-serious adverse events.
Zhuang Renxiang said that the new case died 6 days after the flu vaccine. It was a woman in her 70s who had chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular disease and had a heart stent, as well as diabetic hypertension. She was vaccinated against flu on October 19 and passed away in her sleep at home on the 25th.
Zhuang Renxiang said that the woman’s current death certificate was cardiopulmonary failure, and the Department of Disease Control has also consulted two experts. At present, it is generally believed that she died in her sleep.
The preliminary judgment is more related to cardiovascular disease. However, if family members want to apply for vaccination victim relief, experts will be asked to independently determine the cause of death.
At present, there are 8 cases of death notifications from adverse events of influenza vaccine in Taiwan. Zhuang Renxiang said that according to the latest adverse event assessment results published by the Adverse Drug Reaction Center of Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration, no “safety concerns” about the flu vaccine have been observed, and the public can rest assured of vaccination.
Earlier, Chen Shizhong, the head of Taiwan’s health and welfare department, only made a hasty response. The Taiwanese vaccine adverse reaction report was not abnormal and did not consider stopping the fight. Netizens on the island criticized the “cold-blooded bureaucracy” and “AQ mentality.” It’s too exaggerated!”
