February 5th – Fox News reported on the 4th that the Swiss cruise ship MS Thurgau was transformed into a coronavirus vaccination center on the 2nd.
The center will provide vaccine services for three towns: Romance Horn, Albon and Kreuzlingen.
The cruise ship was reported to hold 500 people, and previously traveled through Lake Constance between Germany and Switzerland.
Affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, the cruise ship is still idle and has recently been transformed into a vaccine center.
MS Thurgau reportedly would stay in Romanshorn for a week, then to Kreuzlingen for two weeks, then another week in Arbonne, and finally return to Romanshorn.
Currently, the ship has two injection points, which can vaccinate 168 people during the seven-hour shift. After more vaccines are available in Switzerland, the injection points may expand to 8.
Initially, the Swiss canton of Tourgao considered using buses as vaccination centers, but later decided to switch to the ship.
“We want to use the fewest vaccination centers to vaccinate more people,” said Uls Martin, a local official in Turgo.
