The report quoted Sweden’s Daily News as saying that medical centers in many places across the country have found that people’s hesitation to get the AstraZeneca vaccine is becoming more apparent. Some people ask for a coronavirus vaccine from another manufacturer, or they refuse to leave the vaccination site, others simply give up their appointments, or turn around at the entrance to the vaccination point.
This status quo has increased the burden on vaccination programmes and health care workers. “A lot of medical centers think it’s going to take a lot of time and effort, the vaccination program is a lot slower, and we’re forced to drop a lot of vaccines.” “It’s unfortunate that we want to use all the resources and it’s unwise to refuse vaccinations,” said Roger Larson, the district’s chief medical officer. ”
To avoid vaccine waste, health care workers began calling people on the reserve list, but it didn’t go well. Doctors will take a long time to explain all aspects of the AstraZeneca vaccine to the public, the report said.
In mid-March, Sweden suspended the AstraZeneca vaccine after several vaccinators developed side effects of thrombosis symptoms. Although the vaccine was reinstated on 25 March, the Swedish health agency recommended that only people aged 65 and over be vaccinated.
