by YCPress

April 9, the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore announced that it had completed the approval of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) and submitted the approval letter to the Secretary-General of ASEAN on the same day.

Singapore became the first ASEAN country to complete the official approval process.

Chen Zhensheng, Minister of Trade and Industry, said that Singapore’s rapid approval of the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement demonstrated Singapore’s firm commitment to strengthening trade and establishing economic links with partners, so that Singaporean enterprises and people can benefit from it.

He expressed the expectation that other RCEP participating countries would speed up the entry into force of the agreement.
