December 10th local time, the Saudi National News Agency quoted the Saudi-led multinational coalition command as saying that the coalition has completed all necessary preparations to accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement mechanism and has reached agreement with relevant parties on the formation of a coalition government, etc. A cabinet of 24 ministers will be formed in the future. , including representatives of the Government of Yemen and the Southern Transitional Council.

Sources show that Saudi Arabia’s leading multinational coalition will supervise the withdrawal of the Southern Transitional Council’s armed forces from many areas, including Aden, from the 10th, and must support the security services to maintain security and stability and combat extremist organizations. The coalition government will be formed within one week after the withdrawal.

In August 2019, the armed forces of the Southern Transitional Council of Yemen broke out with the security forces subordinate to the government of President Hadi of Yemen, and at one time occupied most of the important facilities in the city of Aden, including the presidential palace.

Under the mediation of the Saudi side, the Yemeni government and representatives of the Southern Transitional Council signed the Riyadh Agreement in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, on November 5, 2019, to reach agreement on issues such as the distribution of power within the government, but the parties failed to effectively implement the agreement.

With the proposal of the Saudi government and the support and participation of the UAE government, the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council responded to the mechanism to accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement in July 2020, expressing acceptance of the mechanism, but due to the serious differences between the parties, the agreement has not been truly implemented so far.
