Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said in the “Mediterranean Dialogue Forum” held in Rome, Italy, by video on the evening of the 4th local time that the recent peace agreement between some Arab countries and Israel is “an important and correct step to strengthen stability in the region”.
In his speech, Faisal said that the peace agreement with Israel would help prevent the annexation of Palestinian territory and contribute to strengthening stability in the region.
while stressing that Saudi Arabia is committed to reaching a “just peace agreement” with Israel to guarantee that Palestinians have an independent state.
Referring to the Qatar severance of diplomatic relations crisis, Faisal said he was optimistic about resolving the crisis. In the past few months, several Arab countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan
have agreed to normalize relations with Israel, but Saudi officials have repeatedly said that Saudi Arabia will not normalize relations with Israel until a peace agreement is reached between Palestine and Israel.
