Russia expelled a spokesman for the U.S. Embassy in Russia

Russia has asked Rebecca Ross, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Embassy in Russia, to leave Russia and return to the United States, Russia Today reported Wednesday. Ross later said he had been notified.

Ross was one of ten U.S. diplomats declared “undesirable” by Moscow, the report said. Russia’s move was in response to Washington’s response. On April 15th the US imposed a new package of sanctions on Russia, including the expulsion of ten Russian diplomats and a one-month deadline for their departure.

Recently, the decision to ban U.S. diplomatic missions from hiring Russian and third-country citizens as administrative technicians will be fixed in legal form, according to Businessman.
