India’s Maharashtra extended its outbreak restrictions until June 1

May 13 2021, the government of Maharashtra, India, issued a notice extending the state’s outbreak restrictions until 7 a.m. on June 1. In addition, the Maharashtra Government has announced that persons entering the state by any means of transport from other parts of India are required to carry negative nucleic acid test reports.

Maharashtra is located in western India, with Mumbai, India’s financial hub, the capital of the state. Maharashtra is one of the worst affected areas in India. According to data released by the local health department on the night of May 12, the state added 46,781 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and 816 new deaths.
