12 May 2021 heavy fighting between the Israel Defense Forces and Palestinian Hamas militant groups entered its third day.
According to the latest report issued by the Palestinian Health Department in the Gaza Strip, as of 15 pm local time (12 pm Beijing time), 53 Palestinians had been killed by Israeli soldiers, 14 of whom were minors, and 320 Palestinians in Gaza had been injured.
However, the IDF stated that most of the Palestinians were terrorists. In an operation on the 12th, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the “Simbet” (Israeli Security Service) joined forces to attack a building in Gaza, killing some senior members of hamas military command.
At about 1500 hours on the 12th, Palestinian armed groups fired a new round of rockets from the Gaza Strip into towns and surrounding areas in southern Israel. Alarms have sounded in the town of Dimona, home to Israel’s main nuclear reactor. Hamas confirmed that it fired 50 rockets into Ashdod and surrounding areas.
As of press release, there are no new reports of casualties and property damage.
