May 3 2021 the Thai government’s Coronavirus Pandemic Management Center informed that since April, Bangkok’s Kongdi District has found 304 confirmed cases of corona Pandemic, involving more than a thousand people at high risk, the government will carry out carpet virus screening of the community. Prime Minister Bayoh held a special meeting of the Coronavirus Pandemic Outbreak Management Center on the same day to urgently discuss the response to the serious outbreak in the Community of Kongdi.

There are 39 communities in Bangkok’s Kondi district, including residential areas and low-income settlements, with a resident population of nearly 890,000. Nearly two-thirds of the confirmed cases currently live in densely populated slum communities, and three communities have experienced intensive infections, and preliminary screening has found that the infection rate in these three communities is 5 to 10 per cent. Following the rapid spread of bangkok nightclub cluster infection throughout the country, the Kongdi district has become the largest outbreak site at present, as residents of the area work and activities throughout Bangkok, it is very easy to cause the spread of the pandemic.

Since the outbreak of the third outbreak of coronavirus in Thailand in early April this year, there have been more than 40,000 confirmed cases in the outbreak, of which nearly 14,000 have come from the capital Bangkok.
