May 12th 2021 Malaysia’s Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Saifudin, said that since this year’s people were forced to implement action control orders in the country to spend Eid al-Fitr, several Malaysian telecommunications companies agreed to allow users to make free calls to any communication network in the country on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, from 22 May to 10 a.m. on May 13.
Mr. Seifeddine said he hoped the service would help people stay in touch and feel better with family and friends because of malaysia’s current executive order prohibiting people from visiting each other during the holiday season.
Malaysian Prime Minister Muhiddin announced on the evening of May 10th that the country would restart a nationwide surveillance order from May 12 to June 7 to deal with the “more dangerous” outbreak of Coronavirus, due to the high number of confirmed cases of the country’s Coronavirus.
During the implementation of the Action Control Order, the movement of people across state borders and all aggregate social activities were prohibited.
