12th May 2021 according to the Interfax news agency reported that from the 11th, Tajikistan’s ongoing heavy rains caused mudslide disaster, so far seven people have been killed.

In the Shaoxin region of Tajikistan, three people were reportedly killed when they were trapped in their cars, two of them in the city of Kuriab, and one was swept away by a mudslide while grazing. In addition to casualties, roads, village houses and other mudslides damaged.

At present, the Government of Tajikistan has established a committee headed by the Prime Minister, the National Security Council, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the heads of several ministries in the country to provide relief work in areas affected by natural disasters, as well as a range of assistance to the affected areas and to help the region to achieve post-disaster reconstruction.
