Dr. Dan Minsuo, spokesman of Myanmar’s Ministry of Health and Sports, told the media on the 2nd that despite the current political instability in Myanmar, the Ministry of Health and Sports will continue to promote the vaccination program.
“Vaccines are being done as planned and we have not received any notice of suspension of vaccination,” Dr. Danminso said.
Dr. Mintui, the former Minister of Health and Sports of Myanmar, resigned on February 1, and the Myanmar military appointed Dai Kaiwen as the new minister of the ministry.
As of January 31, some medical workers, volunteers, members of the Federal Parliament and provincial state parliaments in Myanmar have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.
It is planned that Myanmar will vaccinate the general public, especially vulnerable people, from February 5.
