According to the Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK) on February 4, after a huge change in Myanmar’s political situation, detained members of Parliament were granted personal freedom one after another, but according to the National League for Democracy of Myanmar, the court ruled to detain Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and President Wen Min until February 15.
The National League for Democracy released the relevant documents of police detention of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on February 3.
The document, dated February 1, states that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is suspected of illegally importing and using 10 wireless communication equipment.
The document also pointed out that President Wen Min waved to the crowd at the election campaign last September and was suspected of violating the relevant provisions on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus epidemic.
The National League for Democracy also revealed that the court ruled to detain Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and President Wen Min until February 15. It is reported that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Wen Min are now under house arrest.
As criminal proceedings are gradually processed, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi may be under long-term house arrest.
