The Myanmar military issued a statement on December 1, announcing that the ceasefire period will be extended until December 31.

Earlier, the Myanmar military issued a statement on May 9, announcing the implementation of the ceasefire from May 10 to August 31, and the ceasefire has been extended several times.

It is also understood that since mid-November, armed conflict in Rakhine State, Myanmar, has eased somewhat, and some refugees have begun to return home as part of the army withdraws from their villages.
