Myanmar’s Ministry of Health and Sports issued a notice on April 9 local time, saying that the “home epidemic prevention order” will be lifted nationwide from April 10 due to the gradual decline in the COVID-19 infection rate.
Since August 2020, in order to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic, Myanmar’s Ministry of Health and Sports has successively implemented “stay-at-home orders” in some townships in Yangon, Mandalay, Rakhine, Bagu and Kachin states, requiring people to stay at home as much as possible and reduce going out.
According to the latest notice of the department, in townships with the “stay-at-home order”, the rate of COVID-19 infection has gradually declined and the number of confirmed patients has gradually decreased, so the “stay-at-home order” has been completely lifted.
On April 9, 9 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were added in Myanmar, with a total of 142,558 confirmed cases and a total of 138,845 cured cases.
