February 7, Myanmar National Airlines’ Yangon-Chengdu flight UB803 completed its first flight in February, which was also the first flight into China after Myanmar entered the national “state of emergency” on February 1.
It is reported that the flight arrived in Chengdu in the early morning of February 8 and returned to Yangon on the same day. The journey was smooth.
On February 1, the President’s Office of Myanmar announced the transfer of state power to the commander-in-chief of the National Defense Forces, Min Aung-lai, and Myanmar entered a one-year “state of emergency”.
Yangon International Airport reopened on February 2 after the emergency closure.
Due to Spring Festival factors, Air China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines did not arrange flights between Yangon and China in February, and Myanmar Airlines resumed weekly flights to Chengdu in February.
As of now, Yangon International Airport is operating normally, and there have been no strikes and protest demonstrations.
