Sandagsurong, the first deputy mayor of Ulaanbaatar, said at a press conference on the 9th that under high alert, the service industries and related small and medium-sized enterprises that meet the epidemic prevention conditions in Ulaanbaatar will gradually open, but 18 industries such as crowded entertainment venues, exhibition halls, beauty salons and so on will not resume business for the time being.
He said that lowering the level of disaster prevention and alert did not mean that there was no risk, and the general public must continue to abide by various epidemic prevention regulations.
According to the data released by the Ministry of Health of Mongolia on the 9th, 13 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the past 24 hours, all of which are local cases; 1,408 have been confirmed cases, of which 951 are local cases; 896 have been cured cases; and 2 have been killed.
Except for Ulaanbaatar, there have been no new confirmed cases in Selenge, Gobi Sumbuir, Houhangai, Darhanula, Orkhun and Eastern Gobi provinces for many consecutive days.
In order to curb the COVID-19 epidemic, Mongolia has entered a state of full civilian police alert since November 12, 2020, and since December 1, it has implemented different levels of alert according to local conditions throughout the country.
The city of Ulaanbaatar will be transferred from the state of full police to a high alert state from December 14, 2020, and will be implemented again from 6:00 on December 23, 2020 to 6:00 on January 11, 2021.
