November 18th. Indian Prime Minister Modi and Biden spoke to congratulate Biden on his victory. In addition, Harris was specifically mentioned.

Based on “India Today” and National Public Radio (NPR) reports, this is the first direct exchange between Modi and Biden after Biden Harris won the election. During the phone call, the two sides discussed Coronavirus, climate change and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

Modi also said on Twitter that he was still on the phone to congratulate Harris on his election as vice president. Harris is the first black, Indian-American, and female vice president of the United States.

He wrote: “Her success is a great encouragement to the members of the Indian-U.S. community and a source of great strength for India-U.S. relations.”

The Biden-Harris transition team said in a statement that Biden thanked Modi for his congratulations. He hopes to strengthen and expand the strategic partnership between the United States and India with the South Asian First Vice President.

The report pointed out that on the 17th, Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu respectively spoke with Biden to congratulate Biden on entering the White House. Trump has not yet accepted his defeat in the campaign, and two of his allies have called Biden “President-elect.”
