1 August, local time, five current generals, two captains and five non-commissioned officers were arrested in Madagascar on suspicion of assassinating the President. On 20 July, several Malagasy and foreign nationals were arrested for attempting to disrupt public order and assassinating the President. A total of 21 persons have been arrested so far. Local media said police seized two vehicles, seized 900 million Aryarials and a shotgun during the raid, while searching documents related to the action plan.
