The annual May Day parade in London this year joined the theme of anti-police law. Tens of thousands of people gathered in Trafalgar Square in central London for a left-wing rally on May 1st, local time. Demonstrators protest against the police law’s expansion of police powers and restrictions on the right of the British public to freedom of expression and assembly.

The procession passed through Buckingham Palace, through government agencies such as the Ministry of Education and the Home Office, and finally to a park on the south bank of the Thames. The police maintained order around the procession and did not clash with the demonstrators.
