January 29 According to Japan’s Sankei Shimbun on the 29th, due to the continuous expansion of the COVID-19 pandemic in China, the Japanese government plans to extend the emergency declaration that originally lasted until February 7 for about a month.

The report pointed out that if Japan’s domestic infection situation and medical system improve in the near future, the Japanese government may also lift the state of emergency early.

In addition, the extension area and duration will be judged according to the infection status in each place.

On February 1, an expert meeting will be held to make recommendations to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan.

On the basis of an analysis of the infection, the meeting will make a final judgment on February 2.

Although there is a tendency to reduce the number of new infections recently, Kenhisa Aidamura, Japan’s well-earned laborer, said at a press conference on the 29th: “Although the number of new infections has decreased, it is not yet predictable.” Japanese media pointed out that the Japanese government believes that it will be difficult to lift the state of emergency without improving the problem of bed tension.

So far, the areas included in the emergency declaration include 11 prefectures, including Toki, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Aichi, Gifu, Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Fukuoka and so on.

the 18th, local time, Japanese Prime Minister Suga delivered a governance speech to the Diet, expressing his hope to end the state of emergency in 11 regions, including Tokyo, ahead of schedule.

However, Japanese media commented that the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan is still spreading rapidly, and Suga statement will once again trigger attacks from the opposition party.
