On December 21st, local time, the Israeli Cabinet Pandemic Prevention Committee voted that foreigners, including those who have obtained Israeli travel visas, will not be allowed to enter Israel.

The new regulations will take effect on December 23 and will be valid for 10 days. In addition, starting from 2 p.m. on December 23, Israelis returning to the country from any country or region must be under quarantine observation in state hotels.

“At the moment, the mutant COVID-19 is spreading in some countries, and we have decided to shut down the sky in Israel,” said Prime Minister Netanyahu, who presided over the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Pandemic Prevention.

Foreign nationals are not allowed to enter Israel except diplomats. It was a difficult decision, but we had no choice.”

On the 20th, the Israeli Cabinet Pandemic Prevention Committee decided to require all Israelis returning from the United Kingdom, Denmark and South Africa to be quarantined and observed in state-run hotels for 14 days.
