German Foreign Minister: It has arrived the “last window” for the Iran nuclear agreement to save the nuclear agreement.

December 21st, German Foreign Minister Maas said after concluding the video conference on the Iranian nuclear issue that more than a year has passed since the last Iranian Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on the Iranian Nuclear Issue held on September 25, 2019, and now it is now the “final window of time for a comprehensive agreement to save the Iranian nuclear issue” and must be firmly established.

Seize the opportunity to determine whether the dispute related to the comprehensive agreement can be resolved permanently through negotiations in the coming weeks or even months.

At the press conference on the same day, Mass pointed out that Iran must be ensured to limit its nuclear program and not develop nuclear weapons through “clear regulations and strict censorship”, all of which can be achieved within the framework of a comprehensive agreement.

It is reported that after the meeting, the parties issued a joint statement reaffirming their commitment to upholding the comprehensive agreement and Security Council resolution 2231 to ensure their full and effective implementation; reiterated their deep regret for the withdrawal agreement of the United States, emphasizing that Security Council resolution 2231 is still fully valid; endorsed the prospect of the United States returning to the agreement and agreed to the Communist Party of Work together to promote the United States to return to the comprehensive agreement as soon as possible.

In July 2015, Iran reached a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue with the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, China and Germany.

According to the agreement, Iran promised to limit its nuclear program and the international community lifted sanctions against Iran.

The Trump-led U.S. government unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear agreement in May 2018, and then restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iran. Biden is scheduled to take office as President of the United States on January 20 next year.

During the election campaign, he said that after winning the election, he would renegotiate the terms of the Iran nuclear agreement and return the United States to the Iran nuclear agreement.

Iran has gradually suspended some of the terms of the agreement since May last year, but promised to resume full implementation of the agreement once parties other than Iran comply with the Iran nuclear agreement.
