May 3, 2021. the Israeli Ministry of Health announced that among those returning to Israel from abroad, one infant and an adult who had been vaccinated against the coronavirus were confirmed to have been infected with the variant coronavirus found in Brazil, and another adult who had been vaccinated had been infected with the variant coronavirus found in Chile.
In addition, as of the same day (3rd), of the 1,259 confirmed cases in Israel, a total of 60 confirmed cases have been infected with the variant new coronavirus found in India.
Israel’s Ministry of Health has ordered that, from May 3rd, Israelis be banned from traveling to seven countries with severe outbreaks: India, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Ukraine, Ethiopia and Turkey, unless special permission is granted.
Israelis returning from the seven countries mentioned above, regardless of their vaccination status, must be subject to mandatory self-segregation. The Israeli Ministry of Health once again stressed that unnecessary travel abroad should not be undertaken.
