December 12th – Iranian woman Sahar Tabar edited her photo into a “zombie version” of American actress Angelina Jolie, who became popular after posting it on social media. Recently, she was sentenced for “encouraging young people to lead corrupt lives”.
According to a report by the Russian Satellite News Agency on the 11th, Iranian journalist and activist Massih Alinejad tweeted that Tabar will be sentenced to 10 years in prison for “encouraging young people to lead corrupt lives”.
Alinejad also called for the release of Tabar, “Sahar Tabar is only 19 years old, and her jokes have sent her to prison. Every day, her mother cried for her daughter to be free again. He also called on Julie to speak for Tabar herself.
According to Tasnim News, Tabar was arrested in October 2019 and initially charged with blasphemy, inciting violence and encouraging young people to lead corrupt lives. Her Instagram account was later deleted.
Tabar previously said that although she underwent some plastic surgery, most of her “Zombie Julie” styling effects were achieved through makeup and PS technology, and she also posted photos of herself without makeup.
