California applies to join the Department of Justice v. Google’s antitrust lawsuit

by YCPress

According to the Wall Street Journal on the 12th, California has applied to join the antitrust lawsuit launched by the U.S. Department of Justice against Google, making the state’s Attorney General the first Democrat to publicly support the lawsuit.

Earlier, the Attorney General of the Department of Justice and 11 states (all Republicans) filed a lawsuit on October 20, accusing Google of using anti-competitive means to maintain its monopoly position in its flagship search engine and related advertising business.

Google denied this allegation. The company said that its search engines and other products dominate the market and are consumers’ choices.
